New Audiometry Service now available

The Noise at Work Regulations 2005 require employers to ensure that their business activities do not damage their employees’ hearing. We at Safewell can now offer a new low cost audiometry testing service, which can be used to detect early damage to hearing from workplace activities.

By law, as an employer, you must assess and identify measures to eliminate or reduce risks from exposure to noise so that you can protect the hearing of your employees. The actions you may take need only be simple and inexpensive if the risks are low, yet you should use a prioritised action plan where the risks are high.

So far as is reasonably applicable, ensure that:

  • hearing protection is provided and used
  • any other controls are properly used
  • you provide information, training and health surveillance
  • review your measures if anything the may affect noise exposure is implemented
